Home Inspection : Check the Bathrooms
When buying a home, the bathrooms are something that you should take a close look at. After all, who wants to live in a home where
the bathrooms are old, outdated, and not clean? While you can change some of these things with a bit of hard work and paint, there are
other repairs that will be much more costly. For this reason, you want to make sure that your home inspection will turn up any issues in
these rooms. Of course, your inspector knows to look over the bathrooms thoroughly, but you need to make sure that nothing gets
missed.
As you probably know, plumbing is a major part of any bathroom. If you are going to own a home, you should be prepared for dealing
with a plumbing related issue sooner or later. But of course, this is not something that you will want to deal with right away. Your
inspector will check under the sink to make sure that no pipes are leaking. Additionally, they will also check the plumbing that is hooked
up to the toilet and shower as well. While they can only do so much from the surface, they will definitely look for signs that may show a
bigger problem.
Most inspectors will also
check how well the bathtub and sinks drain. This will show any problems with the pipes that are leaving your home. As you probably know, this
can be done simply enough by turning the water on. The same holds true for checking the toilet, only this is done by giving it one flush.
While you may not notice if something is wrong, a qualified inspector will be sure to catch any issues.
Finally, the bathtub itself is also an area that will be looked over carefully. This is done to ensure that there are no leaks,
and that the tub is properly installed. In today’s day and age many people are adding new bathtubs to their home, but not installing them
right. This can lead to safety issues, as well as leaks.
Overall, most bathroom related issues will be found during a home inspection. If you find any issues, make sure that you consider how serious
they are. This way, you will know what you need to repair upon moving in.
